Nokia 3500 cell phone receives text messages during calibration checks. Using 100 solution at 34.0 C yet receive results including 128 mg/100mls and "Interferent Subtract". Some forensic scientists are of the view that only police radios that are transmitting can interfere with Intoxilyzers. This video suggests that cell phones in text message receiving mode can interfere with Intoxilyzer cal. checks. Police protocols should be changed to preclude use of cell phones in breath rooms.
